The Tomte is from Scandinavian folklore. According to tradition, if treated well, they protect the family from misfortune and even help with the chores! However, be warned ... they are known to be short tempered when offended and can play tricks too. This guy is great fun to make!
Each kit contains everything that you need to complete one Tomte.
· Fully illustrated, step by step instructions.
· All the wool and materials necessary.
· Three sizes of felting needles are supplied to suit different techniques.
· Leather finger protectors are provided with safety in mind.
· A high density foam mat is also included, to protect your working area.
When complete, your Tomte will stand around 15cm high from toe to the tip of the hat.
It is presented in a sturdy box, which would make it a lovely gift too.
As you need to use sharp needles for this craft, children will need careful supervision.
